Halloween 2022 in Kyrgyzstan

Halloween is a modern holiday that takes us back to the traditions of the ancient Celts of Ireland and Scotland. It is celebrated on October 31, the eve of All Saints’ Day. It is a traditional holiday in Anglo-Saxon countries although it is also celebrated informally in other countries.

The main symbol of this holiday is the so-called Jack-O-Lantern, a pumpkin with a sinister carved face and a candle inside. It is believed that such a fruit near the house drives away evil spirits.

In Kyrgyzstan, this holiday is not widely celebrated, but it is very popular and imaginative among young people. They create the most curious costumes. Cafes and restaurants are also decorated with related motifs during these days of Halloween celebration.
