Winter 2023 in the Suusamyr Valley

Today we want to share with you our short trip to Suusamyr valley. It is a small valley not far from Bishkek, about 130 Kim. It is located between the three great mountain ranges of northern Tien Shan, Kyrgyz, Suusamyr-Too and Dzumgal-Too.

Since ancient times, the Great Silk Road passed through it, and today it has become one of the favorite attractions for tourists in Kyrgyzstan.

The average altitude of the valley is 2300 meters. Snow covers it about 130-160 days a year, reaching a maximum height of about 70 cm.

The valley is noted for its breathtaking scenery, rushing rivers and majestic mountain views.

There is a ski resort and in winter backcountry skiing, freeriding, and heli-skiing activities are popular. In summer tourists are welcome to treatments of “kymyz”, the nutritious fermented mare’s milk.
